An overview of the Upper Zambezi Fishing Safari Package

This 5 night fishing package takes place in Barotseland, Western Zambia.

It begins with 1 or 2 nights at our main lodge before setting off upriver to fish all day long to the Sioma Falls (the second largest Falls on the Zambezi).

Whilst you are fishing upriver, the team of employees drive around and setup a mobile safari camp on a remote beach below the falls where you spend the next 2 or 3 nights fishing the deep gorge water for the large tigers lurking below.

You will then fish all the way back down to the lodge for the last night. This trip covers 80km of the Zambezi River and offers an incredibly wide range of water – islands, drop offs, deep channels, riffles, big rapids and eddies!

This means that guys who want to troll, cast spoons or jigs, throw flies or even drift a fillet can all do so knowing that they are in for a great chance of connecting with the large tiger fish that live in this stretch of river.

What will you love about the Upper Zambezi fishing Safari;

The three most talked about ‘highlights’ from this trip include the following.

1

VARIETY OF WATER

This 80km stretch of the Zambezi changes from wide and slow flowing to deep and charging through the gorge meaning there is a variety of water to fish in many ways.

2

EXPERIENCE TWO CAMPS

Combine your first and last night in the comfort of the main Lodge with your middle ‘fishing nights’ on a beautiful private beach tented camp.

3

MINIMAL FISHING PRESSURE

We are the only commercial fishing operation that has access to the top 50km of this stretch of river meaning there is minimal fishing pressure and great exclusivity.

What you need to know about the fishing

The fishing at Sioma Falls is excellent and you stand a really good chance of catching a big tiger.

Fishing the deep channels and rapids of the Zambezi all the way from the Lodge, through the top to Kaale Rapids to a beach below the Sioma Falls is spectacular.

There are some very deep channels and some excellent spots to fish for the large and aggressive tigerfish that lurk in these waters of the Zambezi.
